Mrs. Jackson Secret [sic], of the Fairview neighborhood, was laid in the vault at Mt. Pleasant, Monday.
Notes: The 1880 US Federal Census for White River, Johnson County, Indiana records fifty-seven-year-old, Kentucky-born A. J. [Andrew Jackson] Secrest, his fifty-four-year-old, Kentucky-born wife Rebecca Secrest, their fourteen-year-old, Indiana-born son Charles Secrest and A. J.’s sister, sixty-year-old, Virginia-born Maria Jennings.
A. J. Secrest’s first name is from Kentucky Death Records, 1911–1961 citing his son Charles’ death. Frustratingly, this record lists Charles’ mother’s name as Rebecca Secrest.
