George Sherman died suddenly at 6:45 o’clock Monday evening. He had been down town Sunday morning in his usual health, returning to his home on Johnson Avenue about 10 o’clock. He took a chill in the afternoon and went to bed. During the night he was strick­en with paralysis and became uncons­cious, in which condition he remained until death. Deceased was born in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 21, 1836. He had been a resident of Franklin many years and was well known. He served three years in Co. L. 9th Reg Ky. cavalry and re-enlisted at the end of that service, continuing until the close of the rebel­lion. Funeral services were held Wed­nesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. T. C. Cocks.
