RUTH STRAIN

  Ruth G. Strain, 50, of
Nashville, died Thursday
morning at St. Vincent
Hospital following a leng-
thy illness.
  She and her husband,
Robert C. Strain, owned
and operated the Small
World Gift Shop at
Nashville.
  Graveside services were
conducted at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Highview Cem-
etery at Bloomfield, Ky,
  Funeral arrangements
were made by Leppert and
Copeland Funeral Home.
  Mrs. Strain was born at
Bloomfield Oct. 29, 1931,
the daughter of the late
John M. Green and Ruth
Rowland Green of Bloom-
field.
  She was a member of
Nashville United Methodist
Church.
  Her husband, Robert,
was Pastor at the Edin-
burgh First Christian
Church from 1973 through
1976.
   Mrs. Strain was active in
the Edinburgh Community
Center and the Arts Council
during the years of 1975
thru 1978. She was a
volunteer co-ordinator and
helped develop the volun-
teer program. She helped
set up the funding for the
program and recruited and
placed volunteers wherever
volunteer workers were
needed in the community.
   Surviving with her hus-
band and mother are two
children, John C. Strain,
whose address was not
known, and Susan L. Strain
of Nashville; two brothers,
John and Henry Green,
whose addresses also were
not known, and one
grandchild.
