DELAY-In the Campbell co. Court James Walls, negro, was arraigned this morning on a charge of killing William Lacy in the former's home, where he was present as a guest. Attorney Milt McLean is defending Walls and secured a continuance until next Saturday morning.

SHOOTING-The case of James Walls, colored, charged with shooting James Lacy to death, will come up for preliminary hearing tomorrow morning before Judge Hawkins. Walls is held without bail.

NEWPORT-County Judge Hawkins will this morning give James Walls, colored, which it is alleged shot and killed William Lacy, also colored at Walls' home Tuesday night, a preliminary hearing.

CHANGES-Attorney McLain of Covington, representing Walls, secured a change of the charge of murder to that of manslaughter. Examination was then waived and Walls was held to the Grand Jury in the sum of $1500. Friends of the defendant claim he was justified in shooting Lacy.
