NEWPORT

Colored fashionable circles were in quite a flurry of excitement on Thursday evening. The occasion was the marriage of Mr. John James with the beautiful and accomplished Miss Mary Johnson. The ceremony took place at the Baptist Church on Mound street, between Ninth and Richmond in Cincinnati.

A reception was given the happy couple and their friends by the mother of the bridegroom at her residence on Southgate alley, in this city, concluding with a congratulatory speech by a prominent white politician, who was among the invited guests and a serenade from Horsfall's incomparable string band.
