SEQUEL-William "Jenny" Lyons, 60, Negro, Elm st. Newport, was held to the grand jury Thursday when he was arraigned before Judge William C Buten in Campbell County Court on a charge of murder. Lyons is alleged to have shot and killed Charles Chenault, Negro, W Fourth St. Newport, two weeks ago, during an argument over a card game. William Holland, city detective and ed Hamilton, county detective, who investigated the shooting, were told that the two Negroes were wrestling for possession of the gun when the weapon was discharged, the bullet striking Chenault in the head.

Daniel Davies, attorney for Lyons, is to present arguments for a bond for the defendant later in the day.

HEARING-Hearing of a murder charge against William Lyons, Negro, of Elm st. Newport growing out of the fatal shooting of Charles Chenault, Negro, of 4271/2 W Fourth st. Newport, opened Monday before a jury in Campbell Circuit Court. The shooting occurred July 16 in the rear of the victims home. Lyons, thru his attorney, Daniel W Davies, contends the shooting was accidental.

ACQUITTED-William Lyons, Negro, Elm st. Newport, charged with murder growing out of the fatal shooting of Charles Chenault, Negro, 4271/2 W Fourth st. Newport, was acquitted late Monday by a jury in Campbell Circuit Court. The trial was one of the speediest in recent years in Circuit Court.

Lyons thru this attorney, Daniel W Davies, contended the shooting was accidental. Witnesses told of seeing the two men tussling for a shotgun and the weapon exploded. It was testified the two Negroes were friends. This shooting occurred July 15 in the rear of the victim's house.
