NEWPORT
A COLORED CONVICT CLAIMED AS A SLAVE-William Newman, the negro
lad sentenced to the Penitentiary at the last term of the Circuit Court, for
obtaining goods under false pretenses, was yesterday claimed by Co. Taylor of
Newport, as his slave.
