ALEXANDRIA-A fair season for tobacco plants. Corn and meadows are growing nicely and crops are all looking well.

Senator Reiley has just returned from a visit to Lebanon Ohio where his daughter Bettie is attending college.

Mr. William Hardin, of Southern Kansas, formerly of this place, is visiting friends here.  William is looking well and is much pleased with his new home in the West.

The new Road Law is now in full operation and the roads, under the able management of Mr. George T Youtsey, contractor, are being rapidly repaired.

The magisterial-districts of the county were all well represented here this month, being County Court day, and the day fixed by law for the magistrates and Constables elect of said districts to qualify as such.

We have another pool table in our town. Mr. Henry Aspian, proprietor of the Kentucky Home, is repairing his house and fitting up a commodious pool room.

Circuit Court adjourned on the 6th, and the Grand Jury reported four indictments only.

A K Brothers, our young and enterprising merchant, is doing a good business in the dry goods and grocery line.
