SERVICES-Memorial services in honor of death war heroes were held Sunday at St Stephen Cemetery, Ft Thomas. Jacob Clos, 92, commander of the William Nelson Post GAR, Newport, was the only Civil War veteran to attend the services. Clos served as honorary grand marshal of the parade. The other two veterans of the post August Seiter, 89, of Elmwood Place O. and Fred Andrews, 89, of 315 Thornton st. Newport, were unable to attend. The annual pilgrimage for the aged veteran since the formation of William Nelson Post back in 1882.

Funeral services for Gus Seither, Civil War veteran and former Newport resident, who died Tuesday at his home, 307 Locust street, Elmwood O. will be held at the John J Radel Co funeral home, Newport, Saturday at 8:20 am. Requiem High Mass will follow. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. He was 91.

Mr. Seither was the last surviving member of William Nelson Post GAR of Newport. He had lived most of his life in Newport. He leaves one son, Frank, Bellevue and two daughters, Mrs. John Spencer and Mrs. George Klein, both of Newport.
