Austin Gerding

Austin Gerding was born and raised in the City of Newport. He
attended Corpus Christi grade school and later graduated from Newport Catholic
high school. He entered the Army in 1942 and served with the 87th Infantry
Division in the European theater, Germany, France and Belgium, being discharged
from the military service in 1945.
He is employed as an insurance agent for he past three years, a member of the Lawler-Hanlon Veterans of Foreign Wars, also a member of the Plaza Social Club. He lives with his wife and four children at 420 Lindsey street, Newport.
