Birdie Della Evans and Paul Alvin Platz

MARRIAGE-The secret marriage of Paul A Platz of Cincinnati to Miss Birdie Evans, of Newport, was made known for the first time Tuesday. They were married in Covington, July 16, by Rev Geo A Miller, pastor of the Fifth st. Christian Church, and they desired to keep the matter quiet until September, when they intended to leave for Cleveland O. where they will make their future home.

They met in Cincinnati in 1892, when the fairyland spectacle, "Cinderella" was being played at the Pike Opera House. Mrs. Platz playing the leading role and Mr. Platz took the part of a prince. Platz is 26 and his bride is 24. Mrs. Platz has gained some prominence for her singing. Platz was formerly a member of the Second Kentucky Regiment during the Spanish American War.

NEWPORT-A jury in the Circuit Court, yesterday returned a verdict assessing a fine of $1 and costs against Mrs. Birdie Platz, who was indicted by the last grand jury on a charge of assaulting Miss Anna Luhrs.
