EX-CAPTAIN-Clarence McLefresh, 68, former steamboat captain, who lived at 518 Fourth avenue, Dayton, died Monday at Booth Hospital. Retired, Mr. McLefresh was employed for 32 years at the Newport Steel Corp and was captain of police at the Wilder plant. Mr. McLefresh, who was said to have been one of the youngest captains on the river, was captain of the City of Louisville, when it sank in 1918. He was known as "Captain Mac"
Mr. McLefresh leaves his widow, Mr.s Nellie Gallagher McLefresh; one daughter, Mrs. Grace Wessner, Dayton Ky. two brothers, Lonzo, Shiloh OH; and Forest Bremerton, Wash. and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Messner and Mrs. Rose Van Matre, Felicity Oh. Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the Vonderhaar & Stetter funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm Tuesday.
