ROUNDUP-Roundup of pals of Clarence J Petry, 22, of 108 Kenton st. Dayton, believed to have been shot by a confederate after an unsuccessful attempt to hold up Luther Gosney, toll collector on the Newport and Covington bridge at 11th st. at midnight Saturday, was being conducted by police.

WITNESS-Albert R Price, 27, of 1306 Central av. Newport and Clifford Crail, 19, of Third av. Dayton, were held to the grand jury late Thursday by Judge W C Buten of the Campbell co. Court, in connection with the murder. Price is charged with the actual killing of Petry and Crail with being an accessory.

NEWPORT MURDER-Circumstantial evidence will be given a test in the Campbell County Circuit Court Monday in the trial of Albert Price, 27, of 1306 Central av. charged with killing his pal, Clarence J Petry, alleged bandit of 108 Kenton st. Dayton. Police hoped to link together a chain of events to convict Price of shooting Petry, because the latter was unable to make his escape after holding up Luther Gosney, toll collector on the Newport end of the Eleventh Street Bridge in January.
Clifford Crail, Dayton, who police said admitted being with Petry and Price before the holdup will be the star witness for the commonwealth.
