PFC. Cleon M White, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert White, of Cold Spring, was reported by the War Department, as slightly wounded in action Dec 10 in the fighting on Leyte Islands. Entering the service two years ago, Pfc. White is serving with an infantry unit.

PFC Cleon M White, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert White, of Cold
Spring, was killed on Okinawa, April 30th, the War Department informed his
family. A member of the infantry, he had been in the Army 33 months and overseas
25 months.
He had been awarded a Purple Heart for wounds suffered in another action last December. His father is chief engineer at Dam 36.
