Newport Cotton Mill Fire

On Tuesday afternoon last the Newport Cotton Mill, owned by Thos O'Shaughnessy, was destroyed by fire.  The loss on stock, machinery, etc. is estimated at $50,000 and on the building $5000 above the insurance.  The fire originated from sparks from the boiler.

The Covington firemen manifested their willingness to aid their neighbors by promptly repairing to the scene of disaster.
