At a Court Continued and held for the County of Campbell on tuesday the 2nd day of June 1795 at the house of John Grant in the Town of Wilmington

Page 7-Presley Peak is appointed a Constible (sic) in this County and he took the oath of Fidelity and the oath of office and entered into Bond according to Law.

Ordered that the Clerk do provide his office with a seal and Record Books and produce an account thereof to the Court.

John Grant is Licenced to keep a Ferry opposite the lower Street in the Town of Wilmington to the opposite shore and to be allowed the same fare as other ferries across Licking near this place whereas he entered into Bond agreeable to Law.

William Daniel is appointed a Constable in this County whereupon he took the Oath of Fidelity and the oath of office and entered into Bond as the Law directs.

On the Motion of John Grant for leave to build a Water Cries (sic) Saw Mills on Main Grassy Creek he owning the land on both sides of said Creek.

It is ordered that the Sheriff at the Cost and Charges of the said John Grant summons a Jury of free holders of the Vicinage to meet upon the Lands on the 29th day of July who being met and duly sworn shall dilegently view and examine the said Land and the Lands adjacent thereto on both sides of the Creek which may be affected or laid under Water by by building such Mill together with the timber and other conveniences thereon and report the same with the damages to the party holding the same or to any other person or persons under their hands and seals to the Court. Present Samuel Bryan Gent.

Ordered that Squire Grant, Jessee Bracking, Benja Allen, Ezekel Parrish and John Roberts view and mark out the nearest and best way from the Town of Wilmington to intersect the road leading from plumb Creek to Newport and make report to Court of the Conveniences and inconveniences of said road.

Ordered that Elleson Williams, Joseph Boyd, Jessee Bracking, John Arnold and George Standeford or any three do View & mark out the nearest and best way from James Littles (on the George Town road) to Wilmington & make report to Court of the conveniences and inconveniences of said road.

William Daniel is appointed Commissioner of this County, whereupon he produced a Certificate of his having taken the oaths prescribed by Law which is ordered to be recorded.

Ordered that Court be adjourned until Court in Course and to meet at the House of Jacob Fowler in the Town of Newport.  Signed John Roberts
