NEWPORT CASE PROVES A MURDER

The post mortem examination on the body of David Foster was made during the afternoon by Dr. J O Jenkins and Coroner Fred A Davis, MD. The object of the autopsy was to ascertain whether the deceased came to his death by injuries received by kicks and other blows or whether it was natural.

After examining the liver it was found that organ was terribly congested about both lobes and owing to this and other bruises inflicted by kicks and blows that death came from shock. Immediately after the examination Dr. Davis, in his official capacity as Coroner of Campbell County, proceeded with the inquest. The first witness was Ben Hildebrandt, who testified that Foster had been kicked and beaten by Charles Wilson.

The next witness was Dr. Jenkins who had treated Foster before his death. These were the only two witnesses examined yesterday but the inquest will be continued at Coroner Davis office this afternoon.
