Democratic Rally

Cincinnati Daily Enquirer, 17 July 1855, page 2

On the 28th inst. the Democracy of the Tenth Congressional District in Kentucky will hold a grand rally at Cold Spring, Campbell County, about six miles from the river, on the Newport and Alexandria Turnpike. Invitations have been extended to the following gentlemen to address the people on that occasion and it is presumed that the majority will be present.

Hon. George E Pugh, Hon. John C Burckenmpus? Hon Beriah Magoffin, Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky, James B Marshall, Esq. of Cincinnati, Mayor Henry C Harris, candidate for Congress for the district; Hon John W Stevenson Esq.

It is the intention to have an old fashioned Kentucky barbeque, where the far famed hospitality of old Kentucky will be displayed. It is a pleasant drive to the spot selected. The beauty of Northern Kentucky will be here and the voice of welcome will be spoken for all and a grand rallying reunion is anticipated.
