NEWPORT BRIEFS

Edward Jolly, Superintendent of a stone quarry near Mentor Ky. was seriously injured by the premature explosion of a blast at the quarry Wednesday. the charge scattered the stone and a large piece struck Jolly on the head, rendering him unconscious.

His attending physician fears that his injuries will prove fatal.

Edward Jolly, foreman at the stone quarry near Melbourne Ky. whose injuries by an explosion was detailed in Thursday's Post, is in a serious condition. His skull is fractured and it is feared he is internally injured. He regained consciousness after many hours.
