KILLED-Elmer William Wagner, machinist mate first class, husband of Anna Mae Timmerwilke Wagner, 24 Bivouac place, Ft Thomas, was killed when his plane crashed in a night formation flight not far from its base. The War Department telegram revealed that the craft, a Grumman Avenger torpedo bomber crashed last Thursday near Ft. Lauderdale Fla.
Machinist Mate Wagner, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F Wagner, 933 Monroe street, Newport, was married on May 25 when home on leave from Ft Lauderdale. An employee of the Wright Aeronautical Corp. Lockland, when he entered the Navy, he attended St Stephen Paul School, Newport, and was a member of St Stephen Court No 1380 of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Besides his widow and parents, he leaves two brothers, Roy Wagner, Newport, and a sister, Mrs. Rita Gregory, Ft Thomas. Radel funeral home, Newport, is completing funeral arrangements.
