The Directors of Evergreen Cemetery, in Newport Ky. have passed a resolution that the remains of persons legally executed cannot be interred in the cemetery. The resolution was the result of murderer Jolly's request that his body be buried beside that of this wife and is as follows;

Whereas, Many lot owners in this company are earnestly opposed to the interment in the cemetery of the remains of persons upon whom the death sentence has been imposed and executed by law, or of any person otherwise meeting death for any aggravated crime; and

Whereas, Experience has shown that great throngs of persons, of all kinds, resident and nonresident, are constantly attracted by morbid curiosity to the graves of persons so executed, whereby great damage is done to the grounds, and especially to private lots and the appearance of same greatly marred in many ways; now therefore, be it

Resolved, That from and after date the interment in the cemetery of this company of the remains of persons executed for crime, pursuant to judicial sentence, as above indicated, is strictly forbidden and the Secretary and Superintendent are hereby empowered to take such steps as my be necessary or proper to prevent any and all violations of this resolution.
