COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS-The regular weekly meeting of the City
Council took place on Thursday night. A petition was presented asking for the
abatement of nuisances in the Fourth Ward caused by Jacob Faust and A Ahlerding,
each keeping a dairy of cows; also a lot of hogs, sometimes crowded in small
stables and pens; and sometimes filling the streets and sidewalks with them, to
the great annoyance of the neighborhood.
