Charles Britefield

Kentucky Post, Tuesday, 20 January 1903, page 5

A small three room cottage, the property of Charles Britefield of Newport, was reduced to ashes Monday at 11:20 pm by a fierce fire, which was seen for miles around. The origin of the fire is unknown, although it is thought that a spark from a grate fire started it, as Britefield, with his brother, was in the house Monday afternoon and left a fire burning.

The Newport Fire Department was not called as it was impossible to reach the scene.
