BARN BURNED


A handsome and costly barn of H H Southgate was totally destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. The barn was located close to Mr. Southgate's residence in the Highlands and only that the wind was blowing in the opposite direction the dwelling would also have been converted into a bed of ashes.

All the contents of the barn, carriages, harness, feed etc. were totally destroyed. The barn was valued at $2000 and the contents at nearly as much more. The loss is not entire. Mr. Southgate having the barn and its contents insured.
