ITALY-Since February 1944 Pvt. Garrett Strange, son of Mrs. Minnie Strange, 302 Thornton street, Newport, has been overseas with the Army as an infantry soldier in Italy. Pvt. Strange, who is 19, entered the Army in September of 1943 and received his basic training at Ft. McClellan. Ala.

Military services and burial will be held at 1:15 pm Friday at the Veterans Chapel, Dayton O. for Garrett Strange, Newport, a veteran of World War II. Mr. Strange, who was 22, died Tuesday at the Veterans Hospital in Dayton. He served 23 months in Italy with the 88th Infantry Division. He formerly lived at 302 Thornton street.

Mr. Strange leaves his widow, Emiline Strange; one son, Garrett Jr. his mother Mrs. Minnie Strange Ficks, Springfield O; this father, Matt Strange, Paris Ky. one brother, Hobart Strange, Dayton Ky. and two sisters, Mrs. Helen McNabb, Covington, and Mrs. Ruth Williams, Springfield O.
