DEATHS
GOTTLIEB VELKLEY
The funeral of Gottlieb “Pat” Velkley, who had been a barber in Newport for 52 years, will be held at the William C. Betz funeral home, at 8:30 a.m. Friday. Requiem high mass will be sung at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
Mr. Velkley was the husband of the late Kate King Velkley, who died a year ago. He was 69. He leaves one son, Thomas Velkley, employed by the Newport Waterworks Department and two grandchildren.
