TRANSFUSIONS-Fellow police officers gave blood Friday to Harry Sipple, superintendent of the Newport police traffic bureau, at Speers Hospital in an effort to save the patrolman's life. Patrolman Sipple underwent a major operation three months ago and was returned to Speers Hospital after he suffered a relapse. His condition is critical and blood transfusions were necessary.

SUPERVISOR-Patrolman Harry Sipple, superintendent of the Newport Traffic Bureau, died early Tuesday at Booth Hospital, Covington, after an illness of six months. A member of the Police Department for the last 10 years, Patrolman Sipple was stricken last February and submitted to an operation from which he failed to rally.

Patrolman Sipple, 45, lived at 114 W Seventh street. He is survived by his widow, Elizabeth; one son, Sgt. Harry Jr. with an infantry unit in France and a daughter, Tonya Jean. Efforts have been made by Mrs. Sipple to contact her son. She hopes that some arrangements can be made whereby her son may be flown home for his father's burial. Patrolman Sipple, a native of Milton Ind. was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Kishmee Grotto, Covington; the Masons, Scottish Rite and the Shrine.

Arrangements for the funeral are being made by Vonderhaar & Stetter, Newport funeral directors. Police Chief Leo Livingston said pallbearers from members of the Police Department will be named.
