SENTENCING-Harry Williams, former Postmaster at Mentor Ky. was arraigned before Judge Cochran in the US Court at Covington Wednesday on a charge of converting US funds to his own use. Williams, represented by Attorney Aubrey Barbour, of Newport, pleaded not guilty to the charge and it was continued by Judge Cochran.
Williams then pleaded guilty to the technical charge of not depositing Government funds at the right time. Judge Cochran suspended sentencing Williams until next October. This action was taken to enable Williams to earn enough money to pay whatever fine the Judge may assess at that time. Williams was arrested about a year after some funds were missing from the post office at Mentor. Williams pleaded that if the money was gone it had been stolen during his absence from the office.
