Henry Brasher


Henry Brasher settled in Kentucky by 1780, when he claimed 1000 acres on the Salt River in Floyd County.  He was there until 1793 where he was taxed.  He moved to Campbell County shortly after that where James Taylor helped arrange for him to be made a member of the county court.  (Source-Campbell County Court Order Book A Feb 1, 1796)

Henry Brasher Court Orders and Deeds

By June 1, 1795 Henry Brasher was a Newport trustee voting that day to move sessions of county court from Wilmington to Newport.

Henry Brasher was appointed sheriff in April 1801 by Governor Garrard.
