NEWPORT

Dr. Todd and Claude Youtsey yesterday morning performed a post mortem on the body of ex-Deputy Sheriff Herbert Gilmore, saloon keeper at Fifth and Isabella street, who was shot late Saturday night by Albert Baldwin, while trying to prevent a fight between Baldwin and Mike Beston.

The bullet pierced the aorta and lungs and internal hemorrhage caused death. Gilmore's funeral will take place tomorrow morning and services will be held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 8 am.
