NEWPORT BRIEFS

The Highland Women's Club will entertain the members of the Music Lovers Club this afternoon at the residence of Mrs. John Storrs, Tower place.  The program will be contributed by Mrs. Caldwell, Mrs. McVey, Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Storrs, Mrs. Morris, Miss May Culbertson and Mrs. Wright Youtsey.

HIGHLANDS

Miss Marcelia Opp entertained on Wednesday in compliment to Miss Marguerite Bryan, bride elect of Sam W Hilts. The guests included Misses Gladys Ross, Nettie Robinson, Mildred Maning, Nettie Applegate, Katie Shaw, Mabel Dollman, Vivian Weaver, Irene Eisenschmidt, Susan Kavanaugh, Mary Ross, Katherine Kavanaugh, Bertha Hills and Ruth Marty.

Mrs. Caldwell, of Grand avenue, will be the next hostess for the Music Lover's Club.  Mrs. L M George, mother of Mr. W R George, of Blue Grass avenue, contemplates spending the summer with her daughter, Miss Ida George of New York.

Mrs. L K Marty was hostess on Friday for the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society.  Mrs. Sallie Wilson and Miss Josephine Osborn of the Hotel Sterling are enjoying a stay in the Highlands.

Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Wilson (Edna Pasagedagi) left Wednesday for Lafayette Ind. After a visit with Mr. and Mrs. L H Wilson of Ft Thomas avenue. Among the Highland people at the May Festival last week were Mr. and Mrs. David Davies, H E De Camp, John F Opp, Miss Macelia Opp, Miss Blance Kendall, C E Talbot, Matteram Ross, Mrs. Sam Anderson and many others.  Miss Gladys Ross entertained the Stroilers at her home on Ft Thomas avenue Friday evening.

HIGHLANDS


Mrs. William Kearns, of Tremont avenue, entertained her embroidery club with a dinner at the Avenel on Tuesday. Mrs. Roger Spooner, of Minnesota, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. John Gaff, of Mt. Pleasant avenue.

Mrs. Joseph A Cloud has issued cards for a euchre party to be given at the Altamont on Tuesday, October 20. On their return from their bridal trip, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Voige (Mary Muhlmatt) will take up their residence on Ohio avenue.

Mr. H B Hupp, of Highland avenue, is in Detroit Mich. The ladies of the W C T U met with Mrs. George T Ross of Rossford avenue on Thursday.

On Wednesday evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Littleford, on Miller's land, Miss Bernice Littleford was united in marriage to Mr. Arthur Wadsworth.  Rev Robert B Nelson, former pastor of St Paul's P E Church, Newport, performed the ceremony.  After a short bridal trip, Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth will take up their residence in the Highlands.

Mr. J S Kavanaugh is the guest of relatives in Frankfort Ky.  Mrs.. Henry Smith? of Brooksville Ky. is visiting with her daughter Mrs. J L Clark of Mt Pleasant avenue.  Mr. and Mrs. John L Storrs are enjoying a trip through the South.
