Jack Crawford Boltz, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. J Edward Boltz, 634 Maple avenue, Newport, has entered training at the Air Corps Replacement Training Center, Santa Ana Cal. as an aviation cadet. Cadet Boltz formerly was employed in the office of the Andrews Steel plant. His father is an attorney.

At a meeting of the Dixie Gun Dog Club at 8 pm Tuesday on the lawn of the home of Dr. A W Boltz, Grand avenue Ft Thomas, a flag and pole will be dedicated to Jack Boltz, a lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps. Lt. Boltz is a nephew of Dr. Boltz and the son of Judge J Edward Boltz, Newport attorney.

Lt. Jack C Boltz, assigned with the US Air Forces in England, has reported "missing in action" according to word received Thursday by his parents, Attorney and Mrs. J Edward Boltz, 634 Maple avenue, Newport. According to word from the War Department, Lt. Boltz has been missing since May 17.

Lt. Boltz, his father a well known Campbell county attorney and former judge, said had been assigned as a co-pilot aboard one of the US Flying Fortresses. It is believed Lt. Boltz failed to return after one of the United Nation bombing forays upon enemy territory.

Lt. Boltz is a graduate of Newport High School. Before his enlistment in the Air Corps on Jan 25, 1942, Lt. Boltz was employed in the office of Andrews Steel Plant. He received his "wings" on last Nov 25. His initial overseas assignment was in North Africa. Later he was transferred with other US Air Forces to England.

Mr. and Mrs. J Edward Boltz, 634 Maple avenue, Newport will received an Air Medal reward for their son, Second Lt. Jack C Boltz, who has been reported missing after having completed five bombing missions over Central Europe, it as been learned. The award will be made at the Xavier University parade grounds at 4:30 pm Friday. It will be presented by Lt. John E Loeb, adjutant of the 13th college training detachment at Xavier. The award is being made for "exceptionally meritorious achievement."
