Miss Jennie Franklin of Isabella Street, near Fourth in Newport and a popular teacher in the Newport public schools was seriously injured Wednesday night. Her leg is badly fractured and it will be many days before she is able to be out again.

She was in company with Miss Kate Perry of Newport, visiting an aunt of Miss Perry on Price Hill, Cincinnati. In coming out of the house she tripped on the step and fell fracturing the left leg. She was taken home in a carriage where medical aid was summoned. While the injuries are serious and painful, there is no danger of loss of limb.

Cupid invade a private ward in St Elizabeth Hospital, Covington, Wednesday afternon and joined Tobias J Widrig, 57, wealthy Newport druggist and Mis Virginia Franklin, 48, of Ft Thomas in marriage. The ceremony was performed by Rev Martin R Delaney, pastor of St Stephen Church. The wedding was witnessed by Louis C Widrig, treasurer of the Cincinnati Baseball Club; Edward Widrig, Newport druggist; brothers of the groom; Mrs. Edward Widrig and Miss Elinore Mackey, nurse.

The groom and his bride were schoolmates years ago and it was planned to marry in June. Several weeks ago Widrig suffered a nervous breakdown and it was decided to advance the wedding date. The bride has been a teacher in Newport schools for many years and now is principal of the Arnold public school. They will reside in Newport.
