FIRE-John Christy (sic) a veteran, got drunk last night on his pension money, overturned the lamp at his home at First and Berry, and set the house on fire. The fire department extinquished the flames and Christy was arrested.

SENT HOME-The body of John Christy, 77, who died at Hot Springs, Ark. last Friday, was due to arrive in Dayton for burial Monday. Christy's relatives live at Third and Berry streets, Dayton.

Undertakers Vonderhaar & Stetter said the body was due to arrive Monday. The Masons of Dayton will have charge of the funeral. Christy was a veteran of the Civil War. He invented a stack for steamboats which, he claimed, would give them more power. His invention has been put to practical use.
