ARREST OF A RETURNED REBEL SOLDIER-A resident of Newport, named
John Covert, who has been in the rebel army, was arrested yesterday. He
has been at home for a week or two, but has somehow or other managed to dodge
the Provost Guards, until yesterday when he was nabbed.
