REST-With the 2d Infantry Div. in Korea-Pfc John D Alford, whose wife, Dorothy, lives at 830 Patterson street, Newport Ky. recently spent five days in Japan on a rest and recuperation leave from the 2d Infantry Division in Korea. The vacation was part of the army's policy of giving periodic rests to soldiers in the combat zone.
Pfc. Alford, a jeep driver in Company D of the 38th Infantry Regiment, joined the division last October. Before entering the army in November 1950, he was a welder for the Cincinnati Sheet Metal Co. He is a graduate of Campbell County High School, Alexandria Ky. He is the son of Osborne Alford, 27 E 13th street, Covington and Mrs. Florence Alford, Route 2, Butler Ky.
