FUNERAL-The funeral of John Emerson will be held at Morrow O. Wednesday from the Zoar M E Church of which he was a member. He was born in Madison Ind. Dec 7, 1840, moved to Dayton Ky. (then Jamestown). In 1860 was enlisted in Company E at the battle of Murfreesboro. Two brothers, S W Emerson and Joseph C Emerson; two sons and a daughter and six grandchildren survive him.
The two sons, George L Emerson and Vinton R Emerson are both residents of Dayton. He was a charter member of the Joe Hooker Post, GAR and Bond Lodge IOOF of this city. He moved to Morrow O. in 1890 where he lived at the time of his death.
