ESCAPED-A 19 year old soldier at the Ft Thomas Army Post Jail escaped Thursday while working on a sewer project at the post. The escaped prisoner, Pvt. John W Holder, AWOL from Ft. Bragg, NC, was digging a sewer ditch behind the quarters of Col. Arthur Underwood, post commandant.
He ran through a ditch and down a ravine in the direction of the Ohio River., other workers told authorities. Ft Thomas officials notified Station X and a broadcast of the break sent to all surrounding police agencies. The get away was made at approximately 10:50 am. The prisoner was described as being five feet, six inches and weighing 145 pounds. He was wearing a prisoner uniform when he broke away.
