PIONEER DEAD
John Lee, 71 years of age, one of the pioneer residents and mill
men of Newport and father-in-law of Deputy Sheriff George Hindman, died
yesterday of old age at the home of his son-in-law, James Brown, 711 Brighton
street, after a protracted illness.
The deceased had lived in Newport for 30 years having been born in England. He leaves five daughters, Mrs. William Elmer, Mrs. Hindman, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Maloney and Mrs. Jordan, the latter a resident of New Albany, Ind.
