NEWPORT

LOVE LICENSE-Henry Stechling and Kate Herbs, both of this county. They were married at Johns Hill last night.

A lady named Mrs. Louisa Yeager, who resides on Johns Hill, came into the city yesterday a most horrible looking sight. Her face was scratched up and both of her eyes blacked. She alleges that her husband, Nicholas Yeager knocked her down and beat her in a most inhuman and outrageous manner.

It will be remembered that she filed a petition for a divorce but afterward withdrew it on promise from her husband to be better in the future. The suit was dismissed last January and before January comes again she will probably file another.
