PFC John D Tarvin, 21, son of Mrs. Julian Tarvin of Route 1,
California, Ky. was wounded in action Sep 6 while serving with an infantry unit
in France, it was learned here. Now recuperating in a hospital somewhere
in Italy, Pfc. Tarvin has been awarded the Purple Heart. He entered the service
two years ago and was sent overseas 18 months ago.
