Joseph John Haas

HOME-Forty-three months in the Army and no furlough. That is the record which Pfc. Joseph J Haas of Ft Thomas, closed recently when he was discharged at Camp Atterbury, Ind. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Haas of 49 Grandview avenue, Ft Thomas.

The soldier entered the army Feb 25, 1942, and served 40 months with an anti-aircraft unit of the Coast Artillery on Oahu, Hawaiian Islands. He received the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon and the Good Conduct ribbon. Before entering the Army he was employed at the Trumbull Electric Manufacturing Co. Norwood.

He has two brothers in overseas service; Sgt. Charles J Haas is will a medical battalion on Luzon and Tech 5 Robert F Haas is stationed in France with a signal service battalion.
