Members of the Newport American Legion have been instructed to meet at their lodge tonight before marching in a body to the Muehlenkamp, Costigan & Roll funeral home for the services for Joseph Maxey, World War I and Spanish War veteran, who died at the Soldiers’ Hospital Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Maxey who lived at 204 E. Third street, Newport, leaves his widow, Mrs. Alive Maxey; one daughter, Mrs. Louis Meyer, Newport; one son Floyd Maxey, two grandchildren and three brothers.
Funeral services are to be held Tuesday morning. Requiem High Mass will be sung at 9 a.m. at the St Stephen’s Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
