KILLED IN AUTO TRAGEDY-Joseph Nuespickel, retired Newport merchant, was killed in an auto accident yesterday on a highway near Athens, O., and three others of the party were injured when their car skidded off the pavement and ran into a ditch, according to a telegram received here by relatives. Mr. Nuespickel was 78. The injured were: John Nuespickel, a brother; Carrie Nuespickel, a sister, and Tom Wayne, Cincinnati, driver of the car. The extent of their injuries is not known. Neuspickel was rushed to the hospital, but died before arriving there, it was reported.

Another auto, driven by Harry Nuespickel, was also in the party. They were on their way to spend a vacation in Tampa, Fla., having left Newport Saturday morning. The occupants of the second car were not injured. The Nuespickels lived at 935 Boone street, Newport. Mr. Nuespickel operated a wall paper store on Monmouth street, Newport, for many years before his retirement.

They had recently purchased a new car especially for the trip. The driver, who had been visiting a sister at 1418 Reading road, Cincinnati, but whose home was in Florida, had been engaged to drive the party to Florida. The remainder of the party is expected to arrive in Newport Wednesday.

FUNERAL-Funeral services for Joseph Nuespickel, 935 Boone street, Newport, will be held at the funeral home of Fred Erschell and Sons, Newport, tomorrow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold
Barkhau officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Special Services will be held today at 7:30 p.m. by members of the Twin City Council of Junior Order and the Noah Dove Lodge of Odd Fellows.
