Private Joseph Phillips of Company F, Second Georgia, died at Ft Thomas late Monday afternoon of typhoid fever. He was buried at 9 am Tuesday morning.
Colonel Gardiner received a dispatch from the War
Department that all sick and wounded soldiers sent to hospitals shall when able
to travel be granted one month's furlough and transportation to go to their
homes.
