NEWPORT-T M Winston, Esq. Master Commissioner of Campbell County Ky. sold the following real estate on Tuesday, viz: To Joseph A Piner of Newport, 35 acres on Three Mile Creek for $1200; 45 acres on Twelve Mile Creek for $1120 and 37 1/2 acres on Mill Creek for $1280. The difference between the value of land five and ten miles distance from Cincinnati on the Kentucky side of the river and land at the same is quite suggestive.

FREE SOUTH-On Saturday morning a meeting was held at the house of Colonel Jones, when it was agreed that a public meeting should be convened at the Court house at 3 pm to discuss the propriety of permitting a continuance of the Free South. at three pm Colonel Jones offered a series of resolutions denouncing the Free South as an incendiary sheet, but recommending non-action at that time. They were opposed by Messrs. Edwards and Hallam. Joseph A Piner, Esq. moved to strike out that portion recommending non-action. The meeting then adjourned to meet in front of the office of the Free South.

Mr. Bailey appearing at one of the windows remonstrated against the proceeding with much warmth, when the crowd broke open the door and entered the office. The greater part of the type and the two presses were then loaded in wagons, which were driven to the ferry boat. A large portion of the material was taken to Cincinnati, the remainder thown in the river, after which a committee was appointed for the purpose of preventing the re-issue of the Free South at any future period.
