A lad named Smith McDaniels, a pupil in Miss Kate C Nolan's room
in the Seminary, has collected the sum of seven dollars for the benefit of the
sick and wounded soldiers, which he paid over to his teacher. This for a small
boy is quite praiseworthy.

Seven pupils of Miss Nolan's department of the Newport Public Schools have just contributed to the aid and comfort of sick and wounded soldiers $19 in money, 126 yards of bandages and a quantity of h?? The names of the scholars are John Kennett, H Myers, Smith McDaniels, E Jenkins, R Schaeffer, W McHenry and Clay Williams.
