Lester Wanner, 95, Cold Spring KY passed away at his home Thursday, February 27, 2014.  He was born in Alexandria KY on October 11, 1918, the son of the late Frederick Wanner and Hattie Willhite. Les retired after 35 years as a truck driver with Teamsters Local #100 of Cold Spring and served as a Sunday School Secretary for over 60 years.

Les enjoyed working on bicycles and small engines, he knitted scarves and was considered to be a local historian.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Hartig Wanner, a son, David Wanner, a brother, Chares Wanner and a sister, Violet Sams.  He is survived by his wife, Mary Barrett Wanner, a son Ronald (Sandi) Wanner; two daughters, Judith (Benny) Frye and Darlene (Dan) Schalk; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two step daughters Lilla (Fred) Losey and Rebecca (Doug) Orth; one step son Kenny (Sandy) Riley; nine step grandchildren, sixteen step great grandchildren; two brothers Kenneth Wanner and Clayton Wanner; four sisters Goldie Ruda; Hazel Williams, Ruth Wagner and Bonnie Riley.

Visitation 1 pm-4 pm Sunday March 9, 2014 with funeral services following at 4 PM at the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring. Interment in the First Baptist Church Cemetery Cold Spring Ky.  Alexandria Funeral Home serving the family.
