Margaret Wilby

Kentucky Post, Tuesday, 18 January 1910, page 7

To refute statements made by Cincinnati cigar manufacturers, a dozen girl strikers were to make affidavits before Notary Public Fred Tuke Tuesday morning. Miss Margaret Wilby, 611 Dayton st. Newport, former employee of the S Joseph Factory, was to make affidavit that she and her co-workers had been ordered to wet tobacco leaves with their tongues.

"We are not striking against the new "soft work" method but against the inadequate pay offered for the work," declared the girl strikers. The girls strike fund is growing rapidly.
