MENTOR-Several from this place attended the funeral of John Barnard at Second Twelve Mile Sunday. Mrs. Anna Anderson of Newport, is visiting her sisters, the Misses Shaw. Mrs. Anna Potts and Miss Eva A Bartlow are visiting friends in Covington. John Sprague of Grants Lick, is visiting his brothers, Taylor Sprague of this place. Alvin Bartlow of Newport, spent Saturday and Sunday with his father. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Shipp are rejoicing over the arrival of a son. Miss Virgie Williams and Miss Adda and Edna Jolly spent last week with Mrs. John Shaw of Wellsburg, Bracken county.

Rev Akers will fill the pulpit at this place Saturday evening, Sunday morning and evening. The D of A will convene in regular session Friday evening. Tom Clift has gone to Ripley O. to play ball with the Ripley baseball team. Mr. and Mrs. J L Bradford of Falmouth Ky. are visiting Mr. and Mrs. T O Kennedy. Taylor Spague lost a valuable horse last week. He recently moved here on the farm he purchased from D Moss. Mrs. Morris and son J D Beagle, moved here recently from California Ky. The census enumerator Mrs. Dora Jolly has gone over quite a good deal of her territory.

MENTOR-Mrs. William Boyers of Hamilton O. spent a few days here last week. Mr. and Mrs. H K Shaw leave Thursday for a ten days trip to Denver, Colo. Mr. William Moran and wife were weekend guests of relatives here. Prof. A J Jolly and wife, of Bedford Ky. are the guests of Postmaster Jolly and family. Clarence Moran of Illinois, is here at the beside of his mother who is seriously ill. M C Ratcliff returned home Monday from Lancaster Ky.

Mr. and Mrs. T O Kennedy are spending a few days with friends in Ripley O. Mrs. Clara Bradley and little daughter of Covington Ky. are spending a few days with Mrs. Riley. Mrs. E Willis and Mrs. Gillespie spent Sunday at Persimmon Grove Ky. John and Elizabeth Lahrmer have gone to Oak Hal O. for a month's stay. Mrs. King Williams and Miss Iola Jolly spent last Wednesday in Cincinnati O.

MENTOR-H K Shaw and wife have returned from a short stay in Colorado. Mrs. Gertrude Happy and children of Denver, Colo. are guests of her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. S F Daniel. Mrs. Gus and Lelia Shaw have returned home after an absence of several days spent in Newport Ky. Leslie Sharp spent a few days last week with his parents here.

----- her father, Rev N C Pettit, who is better, he having had a slight stroke of paralysis. Miss Alma Woodruff and Ernest Ratcliff were quietly married last Thursday in Cincinnati. Miss Ella Short and Lillian Clift have returned home after several weeks in Richmond Ky. Normal School.

MENTOR-Miss Hester and Cora Anderson of Bethel Ky. were weekend guests of friends here. Miss Cora Carnes is spending a few days with the Mrs. Shaw. Miss Jennie Scollins, of Hyde Park O. spent last Wednesday with Mrs. Gertrude Happy. Sam Revel of Newport is visiting Taylor Sprague. Miss Mayme Lytell and Octavia Klein of Johns Hill, have returned to their home after a pleasant visit with Miss Gertie Riley. Miss Bertha Breiteinstein of Dayton is visiting Miss Iola Jolly.

Mr. and Mrs. William Moran of Cincinnati are spending a few days with relatives here. Frank Bartlow and sister, Fannie of Carthage Ky. spent the Fourth with C B Kinney and family. Miss Bess McCrone of Covington, spent the Fourth with her parents here. Mrs. Mayme Johnson and daughter, Anna Ruth, spent the Fourth in Augusta, Ky.

MENTOR-Mrs. Allie Sellers of Learned, Kas. has been visiting friends and relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Kinney are rejoicing over the arrival of a 10 pound girl. Elenora and Martha Moss of Cumminsville Ohio, have returned home after a pleasant visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Moss. M C Ratcliff has returned home from Bedford Ky. Misses Virginia Thornton and Flora Williams have returned home from Cincinnati O. Rev Connolly of Newport, preached here Saturday and Sunday. Miss Gertie Riley and Mr. Crump spent Sunday at Bradford Ky. Mrs. Anna Anderson of Newport, has been visiting her sisters, the Mrs. Shaws. John Show and family of Wellsburg Ky. are visiting relatives here.

MENTOR-The infant class of the Baptist Church will entertain with a baby picture social at the home of Belle Williams Saturday evening, August 27, for the benefit of the building fund. Refreshments will be served. Clarence Nelson, Forrest Williams, Tilden Foster, Gus Potts, Dallas and Will Jolly were Sunday home comers. Alvie Bartlow and daughter were weekend guests of T E Bartlow and family. Russell Pettit and Will Jolly are very ill with typhoid fever. Sidney Lieberman of Cincinnati, spent a few days here last week with friends.

Mrs. Clara Bradley and little daughter are guests of Mrs. Riley. Quite a number from here attended camp meeting at Carthage Ky. a few evenings last week. Miss Neal, of Maysville Ky. was the guest of her sisters, Mrs. Maas. Tom Clift spent Sunday at Ripley O. Mrs. Joe Clift has been visiting her son, Will and family at Ripley O.
